Are you a Hoyer Lift?

I’m a Nurse, Solution Focused Life and Stress Management Coach and Entrepreneur.

Kathy Parlevliet, the Nurse who knows.  Discovering the reality of what being a nurse encompasses.  Nurses have a lot of everyday issues that require being strong.  Not only physical, but emotional.   According to the Merriam Webster the definition of a Hoyer lift is to raise, elevate, hoist, boost to a higher place or position.  It’s no wonder that the term Supernurse is used.  Who else takes care od several patients physical and emotional needs, along with their families? While saving lives?  On a time, frame that is somehow calculated and micromanaged to the point of nonsense.  Often, I would think that the impossible is being requested. Yet, it is expected from us.  And when we make it work, then another time sensitive request is installed.  What is the goal?

Eventually, short cuts are made.  Nurses leave their jobs, trying to find a better answer.  And those of us who have made the choice to stay. Struggle with their decisions.

How can we lift ourselves to keep nursing relevant to us?  Keeping our spirits lifted and physically strong to tackle our daily needs.  We need to lean on each other.  Take care of your tribe!   Great one of a kind nurses, that need support to be visible.  Thank each other.  Tell a colleague that they did a great job today.  And always, be kind to yourself.

Expanding upon these concepts is part of my Mentor coaching package.
